Energy Efficiency Optimization in Battery-Based Photovoltaic Pumping Schemes

This article deals with the analysis of energy efficiency optimization in battery-based photovoltaic pumping schemes. The study builds on previous findings derived from comparison between a direct water system (DPVWPS) and equivalent including lithium-ion battery (LIB). initial experimental results (PVWPS+LIB) were obtained motor-pump group operating at its rated condition 50 Hz. In present work, an performance ratio variable speed drive (VSD) group, showed that both parameters improve when low frequency range VSD far where flow rate is maximized. Several fitting models performed data monitoring it was concluded overall can be achieved equal to 37 A working mode solution (setting different frequencies – Hz, combination two designed as 37/50/37 Hz) made determine ratios each case. presented this also establish criteria for improving efficiencies LIB charging discharging processes.
